Philadelphia born and raised and yes on the playground is where he spent most of his days. This fact isn't just relegated to a fictional character who moved from Philadelphia to Bel Air but it was real life. Minus the Bel Air part. It was where he learned the essence of what it looks like when a group of people with shared values live, persevere, thrive, and create community. It propelled a 25-year career in social work and education. The journey to this point has been spiritual and one filled with purpose.
Ameen’s work spans the human relations spectrum- - from coach to social worker to educator to school administrator. Throughout his career, Ameen has provided direct service to youth, youth-facing practitioners, and youth-serving agencies through support services, professional development, coaching, and organizational culture. He has led organization-wide initiatives that have been transformational to the overall culture. He has been able to translate his expertise in restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and youth development to practical, strategic use in schools, organizations, and relationship development.
